The Virginia Breastfeeding Coalition is a 501C3 nonprofit and forum open to all to develop and implement effective breastfeeding promotion and support strategies. The coalition was established in 1985 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2005 while still operating under the Virginia Department of Health. In 2008, the coalition became a separate entity "of the people" and was granted its federal 501C3 nonprofit status.
The coalition now serves the commonwealth of Virginia by acting as a central hub for the many local groups, professional organizations and practitioners supporting breastfeeding. We also host quarterly board meeting with speakers that allow professionals to earn Continuing Education credits.
Please feel free to attend our meetings, utilized the resources on our website, follow us on social media (links above), and subscribe to our free newsletter (link above).
